Quest may be started in Littleroot, by talking to NPC Professor Birch.
Player: Hi
Professor Birch: Hello Lord Sqnik, I need help!
Player: Help
Professor Birch: Someone broke into my laboratory and stole Kyogre and Groudon eggs. It's a danger for the whole world if they are in stranger's hands! Can you help me?
Player: Yes
Professor Birch: I've heard that a young boy named Max has seen the thief of Kyogre's egg, ask him for more informations.
Professor Birch will send you to a young boy - Max, who was a witness of the theft of Kyogre egg.
As for the first mission, Max asks you to have all of the starter Pokemon of Hoenn region caught. That consists of the following: Treecko, Torchic and Mudkip (you will not be required to give them to Max).
Player: Hi
Max: Hello, I am Max, I am 7 years old.
Player: Mission
Max: If you came here to ask me who stole Kyogre's egg from Birch's laboratory, then don't count with me! He refused to give me my first Pokemon due to my young age! I can give you some tips, if you are interested, do you accept?
Player: Yes
Max: Ok, if you want to know, first you need to do me a favor.
Player: Favor
Max: Alright, if I can't get my first Pokemon in a formal way from Professor Birch, you will get 3 starter Pokemon for me! I need Treecko, Mudkip and Torchic, will you do it?
Max: You need catch Treecko, Mudkip, Torchic, can you do it?
For the second mission, Max asks you to show him 20 Pokedex entries from Hoenn region.
Max: Oh!!! That's amazing, thank you, I have another mission for you.
Player: Mission
Max: I need some Pokedex information, could you please get me Pokedex information of atleast 20 Pokemon from the Hoenn region?
The last Max's mission consists of bringing him the following items:
10 Pizzas
10 Lovely Powders
30 hd
15 Dustox's wings
Max: Good job! I have another mission for you.

Max: I also need some stuff for my first journey, 10 pizzas, 10 lovely powders, 30 hundred dollars, 15 Dustox's wings, can you do it?
After the completion of all missions, Max challenges you into a duel.

Your next task will be infiltrating the Team Aqua headquarters, located by Slateport.
At the entrance of Team Aqua headquarters, you will be greeted by a Team Aqua member as he will think you would like to join them. Therefore, you will be given several missions.
The first mission is to have all three region (Kanto, Johto, Hoenn) starters (including their evolutions) registered on your Pokedex.

Aqua Team Member: Prove, that you are an experienced Pokemon Trainer! Get Pokedex of all water starter Pokemon and their evolutions.
Aqua Team Member: You need squirtle, wartortle, blastoise, totodile, croconaw, feraligatr, mudkip, marshtomp, swampert in your pokedex, can you do it?
As for the second mission, you will be asked to deliver the following items:
5 Splash Plates
20 Aqua tails
30 Spellbooks
15 Lovely Powders
15 Aqua Ears

Aqua Team Member: Good job, you are now welcome in our hideout!
Right after entering, you will be given a message from Professor Birch. He tells that Team Aqua has the Red Orb and withing 45 minutes, the Stolen Egg will hatch into Kyogre!
Professor Birch: Oh noes! Team Aqua already got a Red Orb, Kyogre's egg is going to hatch in 45 minutes! Please defeat every Team Aqua member, take the egg and bring it back to me before it will be too late!
Your mission is to stop Team Aqua and deliver the egg back to Professor Birch. You will have to beat every single member in the headquarters of Team Aqua until you will be able to claim the Stolen Egg.
